PermaRockingIsolators
They enable seismic rocking isolation of wall systems

Function
They are leak-free in the long term (internationally patented devices). They are typically filled with thick liquid rubber and gas (nitrogen).
Semi-active (to enable seismic isolation)
PermaRockingIsolators enable seismic rocking isolation of mid- to high-rise buildings (>7 stories) and, in general, of slender structures exhibiting rocking rather than shear behavior. PermaRockingIsolators are installed beneath the central core and interconnected with pipes containing proportional valves that control flow during seismic events while remaining closed under normal conditions. The settings of the proportional valves during a seismic event—and thus the flow between the isolators—are adjusted in real time. Appropriate sensors detect the dynamic rocking motion of the core and provide real-time feedback, enabling adaptive AI-driven (learning based) control of the proportional valve (and of the flow within the pipes) achieving to minimize the rocking motion of the core. Sensors detect the dynamic rocking motion of the core and provide real-time feedback, enabling AI-driven (learning-based) adaptive control of the proportional valves—and consequently the flow within the pipes—to minimize the core’s rocking motion.
Dual function (also as dampers)
In addition to enabling seismic rocking isolation during seismic events, normally PermaRockingIsolators function as base rocking dampers, damping wind-imposed vibrations of mid- to high-rise buildings. They are generally more effective than heavy mass dampers installed at the top of buildings.
Standard sizes
Standard sizes (see adjacent table) are based on steel with a yield strength of 350 MPa. For lighter configurations higher strength steel may be used. The maximum service load complies with European standards.
Custom
Custom sizes can be manufactured to meet your application requirements.
